My vagina is self-cleaning. Why use vaginal skincare products?

BareDerma Intimate skincare range is for women who feel that water just isn’t enough. With BareDerma intimate skincare products you can be guaranteed that they are pH-balanced leaving you feeling great and safe knowing they are just right for your vagina.

So what is pH-balance? Cue a little bit of science!

pH is simply the measure of how acidic or alkali something is. It is a numerical scale ranging from 0-14 where 0 is the most acidic and 14 the most alkali. You skin loves a bit of acid (pH4.7-5.75) while your vagina is a lot more acidic (pH3.8-4.5/6.5). A pH of 7 is neutral, like water. Many women do not realize there is an ideal environment for your vagina and therefore, are unaware what may be causing you to feel uncomfortable down there.

Why should I care about intimate skincare?

A healthy vagina means a healthier and happier you.

Your vaginal skin can be sensitive to many factors such as body washes, exercise, sex and menstruation all of which can throw off your pH-balance leaving you feeling less than your best.

Why use a daily intimate wash?

The intimate area is one of the most sensitive areas of the body and requires a specific pH in order to feel good. It’s therefore important to use the right products for the intimate area so that the natural pH balance is not affected. To use an intimate wash with the proper pH is a step in the right direction to having good intimate hygiene. However, the use of ordinary shower gels or soaps are not recommended. These products do more harm than good due to a high pH-level. On the other hand, intimate washes with too low pH (3.5) can also cause damage and create irritation and itching. The external vaginal area has a pH-level of 5, which means that products with too high or too low pH can affect the natural pH balance and the natural flora. This may cause unwanted odor, irritation and itching as a result.

What causes ingrown hairs?

Ingrown hairs are hairs that have curled around and grown back into your skin instead of rising up from it.

Sometimes, dead skin can clog up a hair follicle. That forces the hair inside it to grow sideways under the skin, rather than upward and outward. Sometimes, cutting naturally curly hair too closely will result in the sharpened end of the hair piercing the skin, causing an ingrown hair.

What is Vajacial?

The Vajacial is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a facial for the vagina. The quest for perfect skin has gone to a new frontier with a facial for vaginas.

As an answer to the ingrown hairs red bumps and hyper pigmentation that some women experience after a bikini wax, child birth and ageing ,the vajacial is design to soothe and beautify the area.

How to prevent Redness and Inflammation right after intimate waxing?

After removing hair and removing wax residue, apply an after-wax soothing product like Intimate Perfecting Calming Mask a 100% natural Kaolin and Bentonite clay to help soothe skin and subdue the redness and inflammation. Intimate Lightening Resurfacing Cream also helps to restore the hydration to irritated skin.

You may have heard that eye drops made to treat redness can be used to take the redness out of skin, as well, but we don’t recommend this off-label use as the chemicals can actually irritate freshly-waxed skin.

Have you followed EU-regulations?

Yes. All cosmetic products sold within the EU must comply with EU guidelines and requirements to be able to be sold on the market.
